The past few weeks have flown bye! Amanda and Kaden are now living with us, and it has been good. They moved in Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Watching 3 kids is a little harder than I expected, but once I get Kade's schedule adjusted it will be Great!

Thanksgiving was at my house this year! It was fun. Hosting is always a hard job, I felt like I was always cleaning. :) I really enjoyed everyone coming over! I haven't sat down to upload all my pictures from Thanksgiving, but I stole one from my aunt. (thanks cris)

Josh has been job hunting, he has an interview in 3 minutes, hopefully it will be the job he has been looking for.

Tonight I am going to the Christmas Gathering at my church. I went last year and had a great time, so I am really looking foward to it.

Its been so cold! Brrrrr! If you know me you know I hate cold weather! I wish I could hibernate all winter. Cold weather is not motivating to me. I would rather lay in a warm bed till all hours of the day, than face the cold.

Josh turned 28 on Monday. The girls and I took him lunch to work and ate with him. Then we went and Madeline picked out a birthday cake for him. Baskin Robbins ice cream cake!!! YUMM. Although, his favorite cake in german chocolate, none of us like it. Then we came come home, I cooked dinner and we had cake! A small little birthday party for him. Madeline sang happy birthday all night long. It was perfect. I guess you might be wondering what we got him for his birthday... well he recieved his gift about a month ago. He got new golf clubs, and bag.

Tomorrow is our 4 year anniversary! Its been a fast 4 years! 2 kids, 4 dogs (2 of which only lasted a few days), 1 house, 6 cars, and hours of lost sleep! But I tell you, I wouldnt have it any other way. There is no one else I would rather spend my life with than Josh. Sure, Josh and I have had our seasons of good and not so good, but its perfect!

Josh finally finished his resume! He posted it on monday night, and had 2 calls on tuesday. Hopefully God will open some doors for Josh to get the right job for the family!

Perfect fall day!

The weather was AMAZING today! The high was around 80 with a cool breeze, we had to be outside!

So I took, what will probably be the last for a while, opprotunity to take the girls to the zoo. It was by far the best trip we have had yet! Not alot of people were there, and we went backwards through the zoo, because I wanted Madeline to see what she is usually to tired to see.
Because the weather was so great, we saw alot of the animals. The baby chimps were expecially playful today, they would jump off the glass making Madi laugh sooo hard. Cait loved it so much, except when the baby chimp was about 2 inches from her face... she said "no, no, no." It was so cute. If you put your hand on the glass, they would put their had over yours. We had a great time. Here are a few of our pics! The pumpkin and hay bails were left over from HalloZOOween.

kid stuff

What is it about Halloween that makes you feel like a kid again? Maybe its the costumes and the candy.
The girls had so much fun trick or treating! Madeline wasnt scared of anything, she just kept reassuring her self the whole night, " mom, its just pretend." Cait couldnt wait to go up to the doors and say " tee-teet." It was absolutely adorable! For the past 2 years we head down to a neighborhood in Mid-town, everyhouse seems to be envolved and decked out! The candy is ok, but the atmosphere is amazing!! There are about 100-200 kids walking all around, it reminds me of being little. :)
At the end of the night, Madeline looks at me and says, "mommy, will you carry my basket, its to heavy" I laugh and tell her its time to head home. BUT not before a pit stop at my moms house. My mom made her day, she gave her the new Tinkerbell movie! Madeline was so excited. She has been begging me for it! With Christmas around the corner, I was telling her to wait, so you could imagine her excitement! She stayed up until midnight with very heavy eyes to watch the whole thing!
Above: We were at my moms house, with Kaden and Amanda
Josh and I attended a costume party on saturday night. It was a good time. I love dressing up, and we take it pretty seriously!
I hope everyone had as much fun as we did for halloween! :)

the stuff..

We it seems like we have all gotten "the stuff" but I guess its just going around.
I cant seem to get may family in good health. Madeline has been on breathing treatmeats for 3 days with fever, I have a cough and stuffy/runny nose fever, Cait has a snotty nose and fever, and Josh has been taking theraFlu for 2 days. It seems like maybe these colds just come with the fall weather. Its just another reason I hate cold weather. I really should move somewhere warmer.

The girls got to wear their halloween costumes to church on Sunday morning. They looked so cute. But we were in such a hurry to get out the door, I failed to take a picture. We will be sure to get some on Friday though! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. It so much fun.

Amanda and I went to a concert last night. We went and saw Cross Canadian Ragweed at the Cain's. It was fun. It was some much needed sister time. I am glad that we are getting closer as we get older. She makes me laugh.

Thats it I guess, I am going to try to take a quick nap, hopefully I will feel better when I wake up.

Lately...

We went to the pumpkin patch 2 weekends ago. Cait got to ride her first horse! :) We had a good time!

Above: Cait's Halloween Costume. All made by hand, made by me. Shirt, tutu, headband, tail, ALL of it! This was my first attempt, and I am proud of myself! :)
Below: What Madeline's Costume will look like once I get my tulle in! And her boots are still on their way from e-bay!

Blood

As most of you know I cant handle blood very well, especially from my own children. But, today I was forced to "handle" it.
I was at my moms work helping out, Madeline and Cait were feeling restless, so I decided it was time to go. I preceed to take a quick pit stop in the bathroom just before I hear "thud....cry." I rush over to see what happen. I pick Cait up and blood is gushing out of her head. She is upset and smearing it all over her face. I panic. I cry. I panic. Then, I rushed to get Madeline in the car. Cait couldnt sit up without her head bleeding, so my mom held her the whole way to the UrgentCare. Thank God she was with me. I was a mess. Cait was sobbing. Madeline was asking a lot of questions.
Cait cried the whole time! Yvonne, my mother-in-law, saved the day. She held Cait firmly while the doctor was sewing her up. 5 STICHES!! My mom held my hand! WHEW! She hit her head just above her right eyebrow. :(
So its all finally over, Cait isnt crying anymore because she is numb. The the doctor starts talking about scars! UGH!! I didnt even think of that.
Madeline was on a walk with her papa the whole time. They got cookies and milk. Perfect!
We are home now. Everyone seems fine for the moment. :)
On a lighter note, Madeline got her first haircut!! I know what you are thinking "shouldnt she have had one by now?" Well the answer is no. Because of her tramatic birth, she has had a very hard time growing hair. They suctioned her head 3 times resulting in a lot of damage. Anyway, Her hair is super cute. I will post pics later tonight.

Above: Cait after alot of crying, sweating, and pain! Bless her heart. It was a rough day.

Above: Cait vs Ravioli! haha! :)

We're Baaacckkk!

Well we have been home for a week now, and this is the first time I have been able to sit down and update!

We had the most AMAZING week in San Diego. The flight was good, we packed to much, the weather was perfect, the house was perfect, and family was great!! First thing we did when we got off the plane and got a rental (van..haha :)) was stop and In N Out for a burger!! Its safe to say I gained 3 lbs while on vacation, thanks to In N Out! :) Seriously!! We ate there 8 times in 7 days! I like it alot, but thanks to my brother in-law Ryan, we ate there once a day! I am pretty sure he could live on In N Out!

We spent our first day in Old Town San Diego. I love it there, so much culture, and hands down the best mexican food I have EVER had! And quite possibly the best little mexican band ever! I think they are called mariachi band.. but I am horrible at spelling, so you will have to sound that one out. :)
below: us walking around Old Town :)

The next few days were spent at the beach. Our house was right on the water in Mission Bay. It couldn't have been any more perfect! Beautiful views, large windows, 3 balconies, the house was amazing! The house was more on the residential side, so we had lots of beach to play on!

below: we went out to watch the sunset...

Wednesday we went to Disneyland! I was so anxious! We finally got there after a 2 hour drive. IT WAS PERFECT. Madeline was so excited that she was stuttering. I had to fight the lump in my throat so I wouldn't cry a little. When we got in we went straight to see the princesses! Madeline was starstruck! I have never seen her act the way she did, or make the faces she made. Again I had to fight back a tear or two. :) The rest of the day was spent riding rides and seeing all that Disney had to offer. Josh took me to ride a few adult rides while the grandparents took the little ones for a while. First we rode Space Mountain. I screamed A LOT!!! So much that Josh, Tiffany(sister in law), and Ryan(brother in law) were laughing so hard they couldnt make a noise! And the 2 people we didnt know were laughing at me as well. When we got off I had mascara running down my cheeks from fear and laughing. Finally, after a l-o-n-g day it ended with a parade! Madeline was so excited to see all the princesses and all their friends. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.

above: Madeline at the very moment she saw the parade starting! Priceless
below: just before leaving disneyland we were there open to close!

We spent one cloudy day playing put-put golf and hitting some balls in the batting cages. The rest of our time we spent on the beach. Josh has some friends that lived close by so it was nice to see them a few nights. We even went out one night we were there. We went downtown to Shout House. It was a piano bar, so much fun! The week went perfectly. I am blessed to have married into a such wonderful family.

Thank you Don,Yvonne, Tiffany, Ryan & Michele Ethan & Abby. We made wonderful memories!

mission, disney, zoo OH MY!

In 2 days we will be boarding a plane headed to San Diego CA!! Need I say, "I AM SO EXCITED!" We are staying in a beach house on Mission beach for a whole week, a full 7 days!!

We are going to Disneyland, I cant even begin to tell you how much I am looking foward to it! We will also be visiting to infamous SD Zoo!

Here is what I am not excited about. PACKING. So packing for 4 is a whole new ballgame. Who knew that 4 people would use so much stuff in 1 week! And I am still afraid we are going to have enough. AIRPLANE. I am ok with airplane rides.. but Madi and Cait will probably have a different opinion on it all. And if you know Cait, you know she is hard to handle at times, and she will be sitting on our laps! SLEEPING. I know that there is going to be plenty of room in the house to sleep, but I assure you Madeline will find her way to our bed everynight equalling a week on bad sleep.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week while we are gone. OH and we bought a new camera so pictures will be coming soon!!!!

For you veiwing pleasure... a pic of the girls last december! hahahaaa

Olympsticks

For the past 4 weeks we have been watching the best of the best compete in the Olympics much like the rest of the world sooo.... Hopefully, you find this as funny as I do! I was putting Madeline to bed the other night as she said "No mommy, I want to watch seseme street!" Of course I told her they were sleeping too. Then she says "Mommy, I just want to watch TV." Again I tell her its "night, night." Finally she says "Fine, I will just watch the Olympsticks."

HAHAA!! I start laughing! I have lost hours of sleep watching the olympics, so I found the humor in that.

Tonight, I flip on the news at 10 just to catch the end of the Democratic Party Convention. Madeline's response, "Is this the Olympsticks?" I have to laugh again! She says, "oohhh" and lays her head back down. I guess it must have been the fireworks.

Goodnight!

I would love to post a recent picture of my really cute kids or my giant dogs, but I cant! I lost our camera! I had it in the diaper bag on sunday when I dropped to girls off at church and havent seen it since. :( Hopefully, It just fell out and someone found it.

Above, I think this was in June Before Madeline got her teeth. She went down the slide and looked like this when she was getting off!!! HAHAHAAaaa

You can call me Speedy!

What a week! Monday, I had jury duty! It was terrible for the 2 hours I was there, I was standing in line with about 300 other people, then forced to sit in a stuffy basement. Then an announcement!!! "If there is any reason you can not perform jury duty at this time, please go to room 314 on the 3rd floor." I was excited and was nearly the first one out the door. So I see a judge, "why cant you do your jury duty?" he asked. So I reply in a sweet voice, "Well I am a stay at home mom and cant find a sitter for an entire week." He says, "your jury date will be postponed 6 month, that should be attiquite time to get your childcare situated." So they ship me off to a different room to decide on a new date. January 12! Needless to say, I am looking for a sitter for the week. :( But my sister was in town to watch my girls for the day, so we got to hang out for a while once I left the courthouse.

Tuesday, started a new job. :) I like it. (MDO teacher for 1yr olds)

Wednesday, Work for my mom from 9-5 then Josh and I are "moms and pops" of a youth community group from 6:30-8. It went much better than I expected. The kids are great!

Thursday, back to work with the kiddos. Then back to help my mom for a few hours, then we went to Utica Square for "summers fifth night"

FRIDAY... a day of much needed rest. The girls and I slept in till 10, then Josh scheduled me a massage, then I came home rested, showered, then we went out to dinner! It was a good day....... OTHER than the speeding ticket I earned on the way home from the massage! So I was trying to hurry home because I knew josh needed to get back to work. He had an appt at 12:30. Well guess what, I sat up from my massage at 12:30! AHHH!! So I was racing, literally, home and I come up over a hill and see the cop! I start slowing down and sure enough, she flips her lights on!

She come to my window and says "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I love this question. I mean really??? Like I didnt know I was speeding! Not to mention now I am going to be even later!!!!!!!!! So I say, "Yes, I was speeding, but I dont know how fast I was going." She informed me that my speed was 55 IN A 40!!!! ughhhhh.... I didnt even know they still had 40 as a speed limit. She was nice enough to write my ticket for 9 over, so it doesnt hit my driving record or insurance. :)

So I am racing home again, as fast as the law allows! I walk in the door, its almost 1! Josh says to me nicely ;) "what? did you forget?" Just as I am about to explain, he looks at my hand, see the pink slip, Yells and storms out!!! At this point I am thinking... thanks for the massage, but I am no longer relaxed!

He called back an hour later said that he wasnt mad anymore and that he should just expect it from me since IT WAS MY 4TH TICKET THIS YEAR!!!! He said he was more worried about me since he couldnt get ahold of me... and he was running late.

Hahaa... what a week.

Today is sunday, we spent all of the morning at church. We are headed back in just about 30 min so I need to get all of us girls ready.

Hopefully we will be in a routine soon!

Above is a picture that makes me laugh everytime I see it! It was taken when I was 6 months prenant with Cait, we were on a cruise to the Bahamas and we wanted to take a picture by the rails to prove that we were in the middle of nowhere.... much to my suprise, its windy next to the rails... but not really anywhere else!! Hahaaaa.. it was so funny! The picture turned out perfect!!!

Birthdays....

Yesterday was my dads birthday!! 60!! I cant believe it. I cant imagine what my dad must have felt like 24 1/2 years ago on his birthday. He must have felt every emotion possible... scared, excited, anxious, etc. For his birthday he recieved 2 baby girls! Twins, just 18 months old. He and my mom only had 3 days to prepare for this birthday party! They were called by DHS and were told "we have twin girls ready for adoption, would you like them?" Of course their answer was yes, after years of being unable to concieve. The DHS worker said ok, they are yours, in 3 days, August 18, my dads birthday.

So every year we celebrate my dads birthday and our adoption birthday together. Of course its not about gifts, its about being thankful for each other.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

This pic is from Wednesday night.... my papa showed up for a suprise visit, but it got all of us together!

I got out of just duty this week! BUT, I have to serve in January NO EXCEPTIONS! Ugh.... hopefully I get a good trial! (and can find daycare for a week)

Today was my first day of teaching at my new job and their first day of school! I was udder craziness at first, but once the kids got settled it went a little smoother! I have one girl in my class that was recently adopted from Guatamala. She is precious! I felt terrible because she cried for 2 1/2 hours straight. We called her mom, she informed us of Analise being a little untrusting at first. I think that is totally understandable. By the end of the day, she was playing and smiling, she even gave me a kiss! It made the terrible morning worth every crying minute! :)

SAHM??

Well, I got a job! I will have my own class of 1 year olds twice a week at a Mothers Day Out in Bixby, to be more specific, the church I grew up in. :) Funny how things like that happen! So now I will be working Tues and Thurs there, and will help my mom Mon and Wed, then I have my youth group on Wed nights and Sunday mornings!

HOPEFULLY, I will be able to keep my fridays and saturdays free!

I am excited to be busy again!!!

above... the girls one year ago!! They have grown up so fast! This was the first time Madeline really wanted to help with Cait and she was soooo proud of herself. Although, the moment was short lived I was quick enough to catch a picture of it! Its one of my favorite pictures.

Bring on the Rain

Finally, some rain! When it started raining on Friday, I stopped to watch it for a while. I felt like it had been months since I had seen the rain... and maybe it had been, I dont know. But it was much welcomed. It was a full 11 degrees cooler than the day previous!

This weekend Josh got his tattoo worked on Friday and Saturday! He is still pretty sore, but it is looking good. I just thought it would be done by now! He is over 28 hours in... and it still looks like it will be at least 10hours or more. Keep in mind, this started out being a 18hour job!
Marshalls opened!! Its a mile from my house!! I am super excited. They have really cute home stuff for pretty cheap! And they have really fun stuff for the kids! I got books, cd's and some clothes! They have everything! And for a bargian hunter like me, its heaven! Its probably not good thats its so close. :/
Madeline went to a birthday party this weekend! He friend Claira turned 3, and Cinderella came to her party. Madi was so excited! She couldnt believe that Belle came to her party and Cinderella showed up at Clairas party. She was so cute, she kept asking where Prince Charming was! She kept telling Cinderella that we were going to go see her in her castle, which we are going to next month when we go to Disneyland! I didnt take my camera! But I got a few pics on my phone.. so once I firgure out how to get them off.. I will post a pic!

Today I am going to buy a new bible. And I am actully excited about it. Josh and I were asked to teach a small group at our church on Wednesdays nights. If you know me, your probably thinking.. ya right. Over the last 2 months Josh and I have been making some much needed changes in our lives. I have eliminated a few friends that were not who they turned out to be. We have been attending our church for over a year now, and we love it. So, as being leaders in our youth group the next semester will be filled with high school football games, dinners, band events, and anything else that may come up. I am so so so excited about the opprotunity to have an impact on todays teens. And, what an amazing example we will be setting for our own girls. I have tears in my eyes while I write this, b/c I think it is amazing how God knows exactly what you need when you need it. :)

sweaty....

I can't believe its so HOTTTTTT!!!! I feel like I am in a constant sweat. We dont even go swimming much anymore because it just isn't refreshing.

So, Josh was outside doing yardwork the other day, as you could imagine, I was delighted when Madi wanted to go out and play. I sacked up and took the girls outside to play despite the heat. Well to my luck, the sprinkler was on, although I had my clothes on, I didnt mind the water at all. And, I got a few cute pics! Cait wanted to eat the sidewalk chalk, while Madi found it more entertaining to chase Cait with tree limbs...

OH! I have jury duty! HOW THE HECK DID THIS HAPPEN! Anyway, its August 18, my dads birthday and my adoption birthday! What Luck! I guess I need to start looking for a babysitter!

Our friends, Kelli and Shane, had their house warming party over the weekend. Its was a much needed adult night. We had alot of fun, and their house is BEAUTIFUL. I could never imagine living in a house so nice... but Josh asures me that we will.

Guess thats it for now! I am staying inside!

Teeth, Tahlequah, & Texas...

The past month has been a little crazy! Madeline FINALLY got her new teeth! I have to admit they look real! Really, they do... other than the super bright white color, you would never know. I knew they would be really white at first, but the dentist said they would fade... so i would perfer to have really white teeth than brown teeth in another year.

We went to Tahlequah and spent 3 days with my sister. The kids had alot of fun playing together and Madi loves her Aunt Mandi! It was nice to spend some time with them.

We also went to see my Aunt and her family in Texas. It was Jakes 5th birthday! What fun! Jake and Madi played so good together. We went for a swim on saturday before the party, where Jake learned how to swim! What a milestone!!! We were so proud of him! Then we headed off to his birthday party. His party was at a inflatables place. Madi was nervous at first but after she warmed up, we couldnt keep up with her. Josh played video games the entire time. He deserved it, he works so hard, a little play time was very needed! The party was a hit!

Tamera, a dear friend of mine, has been in and out of town this past month! We love when they come to visit! She has 2 kiddos close to the same age as Madi and Cait. (we wish they would move back here).
MY CAR:
Josh bought me a used car while I was in Galveston! I loved it. I was excited to not have to spend all the money in gas anymore (had 02 Expedition), and it was so cute! Its and 05 pearl white Nissan Altima. Did I mention that I love Altimas! I had and 2000 Altima when Josh and I first got married, it never had one problem. It was a perfect car for me b/c it didnt need any work, just change the oil, and it was great!

So we were on our way to the lake over 4th of July weekend and the service engine soon light comes on... Josh looked out the back window and there was smoke coming out of the car! We pull over immediatly to notice there is transmission fluid everywhere! So we have it towed back to the dealership we bought it from. We get the car back a week and a half later, the transmission failed! OMGosh! That seems very dangerous. 2 days after I pick the car up, the service engine soon light came on AGAIN! After 4 days in the shop, we got it back. GET THIS, its 2 days later and josh just called me, he is on his way back to the dealership b/c that damn light came on again!!! I AM PISSED. Josh is going to try and trade it for a camry.

On a better note, I have been looking at Disneyland web page. I am so excited about going. I dont know who will love it more, Madi or myself!? WE are looking foward to spending time with our family and are counting down the days.

Walking on Sunshine

Since our trip to the beach, we cant stay out of the water! We have been swimming about every other day. The girls are real water babies. Although, Madi is still very nervous about putting her head under water, she will dip her head back as far as she can to get her hair wet! She is pretty cute. Cait is so independent, she wont let me hold her hand, she will stumble and fall face first then get up and do it again.
I took the girls to get their pictures taken on Monday! WHAT A MESS! Neither of them of them were listening and both were running around. I felt so sorry for the photograper, I could tell she was getting a little uneasy. BUT! to my suprise the pictures turned out great. I guess it helps the I have REALLY cute kids! hehee! I really wanted to capture Madeline with no teeth, and how much they really love each other! If you feel like looking at their pictures; here is how: http://www.thesmilestation.com/, name: Andrea Jones, access code:LTTT0172102513TAR. The pics wil be ready for viewing by Monday 7th (hopefully), 10th at at latest!
We ordered alot of them, but let me know if you would like me to order some for you!
Madeline is begging me to get up so we can go swimming, so I should go! I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July! God Bless

All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth...

Some of you are probably wondering where the process is of Madeline's teeth. Well, we go in tomorrow morning at 7:30 for premed, then they will take to impression for Madelines fake teeth. We will then have to wait 2 more weeks for them to make the teeth ready to be put in.
These days to the dentist are pretty hard on me, b/c the meds they have to give her make her upset. (this is our 3rd visit)
If you have no idea what I am talking about read below, I copied and pasted it from my myspace.

Worst day of my life so far!
So, I pick up Madeline from school on tuesday. We get in the car and are on our way home. Madi keeps saying "my teeth hurt and my lip hurts." So I just figure she bumped something and bit her lip. We finally she says it so many times, I get to a stop light and tell her to show me her teeth. OMG!!! Her front tooth is shattered!! You can imagine my disbelief! I turn around and race my 11mpg vehicle back to her school. I was ticked! So in the nicest way I could at that point, I marched in there and asked why I was not informed and why no one seemed to know about it! UGH!
We left the school and went straight to see my mom, she used to be a dental heigenist, to see what I should do. We went straight to the dentist office, and to my luck, the dentist was GONE! UGH! So they told her not to suck her fingers and made her an appt for 7:30 wednesday morning. It was a long night!
We show up bright and early at the dentist office, they take and x-ray, and the dentist comes in. He looks at her tooth for a minute, then looks at me and shaked his head. "We cant save it, it has to be pulled" I immeadiatly become sick to my stomach and fight back the tears. So, he refers us to a pediatric oral surgen. We get his only opening! We arrived at 10 for anestethia (and the doctor looks at the x-ray and says "I can save it.") Her appt is was at 11! Well by 11:15 she is still acting her normal self and not even a bit sleepy! We go back and they thought the nitrous would put her out... it didnt. So the doctor is poking at her tooth and looks at me and says "this didnt show up on the x-ray, its in 4 pieces, we have to take it out." UGH! Now I am sick and fighting back more tears! I have never seen her bleed so much! She must have been so scared! The WORST feeling in the world is not to be able so help your own child! I was simply helpless! I just held her hand while he pulled what was left of her tooth out with plyers! It just seemed so barbaric! ( i think i spelled that wrong)
So now her front tooth is GONE!! Then he tells me that it is very important at her age to have front teeth! OF COURSE IT IS!! Mainly for her speech to continue to develop and her other teeth to maintain placement. So now she has to have her other front tooth pulled and have 2 fake teeth put in!! OMGosh! Now we are talking some money! But they swear that they look real and no one would know the difference.
Bless her heart, she just doesnt know to be upset, and I am greatful for that!
I know that there are much worse things that happen in life, and this is just a speed bump, but we are pretty bummed about it.
